Catriona Ruane, the Minister for Education in the Northern Ireland Assembly, was honoured by her native county at a civic reception held in Mayo County Council offices last Friday.

The Mayo County Council has been given approval to place a €2.677 million contract for the provision of a new wastewater treatment plant in Kiltimagh. The news was announced to Swinford electoral area councillor Jimmy Maloney by the Environment Minister John Gormley. Response Engineering Ltd has been granted the contract.
