Great weekend ahead at The Snug Bar

This Thursday night February 19 is retro night at The Snug Bar, with The Retronauts providing a blast from the past with a modern twist! This Dublin band perform a quirky mix of funk, disco, rock and reggae hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and today, and they are influenced by artists as diverse as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Aretha Franklin to Chic, Prince, and Diana Ross.

Saturday night at The Snug with Beggars Velvet

Beggars Velvet play The Snug this Saturday at 10pm. This three-piece acoustic act from Galway are all multi-instrumentalists and singers. Born out of the boredom of the present cover band scene, the plan was to create something different, something new, something versatile while still keeping a certain amount of integrity within the set. The set is always evolving and always new and never should be missed.

Macey South get the weekend started at The Snug Bar

This Friday November 7 there is only one place to be and that is celebrating in The Snug Bar with Macey South. For those few who are not already familiar with this renowned Athlone band, Macey South is a young energetic three-piece made up of brothers Keith and Liam Flynn and Conor Irwin. Their original mix of traditional Irish music and rock ‘n’ roll never fails to get an audience on their feet. Music kicks off at 10pm.

Tonight, Friday September 5 there is only one place to be, and that is celebrating in The Snug Bar with Macey South. This renowned Athlone band are a young energetic three-piece. This is a great opportunity to hear some of the songs from their fantastic recently launched CD. Their original mix of traditional Irish music and rock ‘n’ roll never fails to get an audience on their feet. The band’s energy is comparable to the Pogues and Horslips whilst drawing influences from a variety of genres.
