Skoda Octavia gets new 1.0 litre TSI petrol engine

Skoda Ireland is set to introduce a new 1.0 litre TSI petrol engine in its Octavia model this July.This will be the first time a three-cylinder engine will be used in the Octavia, making Skoda the first brand in the Volkswagen Group to launch this particular engine on the MQB platform. Turbocharging will result in a healthy 115 bhp power output from this unit. Exact figures have yet to be confirmed; however significant improvements in fuel efficiency and emission outputs are expected when compared to the outgoing 1.2TSI engine.
