It is Friday the 13th, a day that strikes fear into the superstitious, but a date that has been looked forward to by many, as the Ballinrobe race season starts tonight.
Race for food this week
It’s that time of the year, the Galway Races start on Monday, and half the country will be up at Ballybrit for a punt. I worked up there many years ago as a chef, and one of the most popular meals on sale was the steak baguette.

It is also a buffer to the raging storm outside.
