Renowned theatre company Druid bring Martin McDonagh’s The Cripple of Inishmaan to Roscommon Arts Centre for three performances only from Thursday to Saturday January 27 to 29. There are a very limited number of seats left for what is one of the highlights of the theatrical season. These three performances mark the beginning of a major 21-week tour and Roscommon Arts Centre is delighted to welcome Druid to the town for their first performance here.

With over 25 years teaching experience at all levels, Fiona works as a full-time traditional music teacher. Her classes cater for both the absolute beginner and more advanced players, aged eight plus, who would like to develop their traditional music technique and repertoire. Returning students and newcomers are all welcome. Classes take place in Roscommon Arts Centre.

He has taught and performed at some of the finest venues, summer schools, and festivals across Ireland and abroad. His classes are specifically designed to be small enough to allow each child individual attention, whilst also being able to participate with, and learn from other students.

Fresh from a sell out year at the Edinburgh festival Jason Byrne takes his fringe show Jason Byrne 2010 to all of his favourite Irish venues including Roscommon Arts Centre on Friday November 5. Jason Byrne is an exciting live stand up performer, as anyone who has seen him will testify.

The distinguished violin and piano duo of Catherine Leonard and Hugh Tinney will tour to Roscommon Arts Centre today, Friday October 15 at 8pm. This duo has a special affinity with Beethoven’s music and will perform two of his sonatas for violin and piano (No.3 and No.10). They will also play James Wilson’s Sonata No.5 written for the duo in 2001 together with Debussy’s sonata which Leonard describes as being “full of fantastical elements and jazzy rhythms”.

Music and comedy fans will not be disappointed this autumn with a varied mix of both just confirmed for autumn at Roscommon Arts Centre.

Solarus, a classic rock/metal band whose influences include Zeppelin, Metallica, and Hendrix, will be bringing their talents to Roscommon Arts Centre on Saturday September 4.

Roscommon Arts Centre has recently announced its summer events for July and August and there is something to keep everyone in the family entertained over the coming weeks.

Following on from last summer’s success, the Choral Academy Ireland, fronted by Jim Maley, return to Roscommon Arts centre for Summer Singing Camp from Monday to Friday, July 5 to 9.
