Raharney claimed the Westmeath Senior Hurling Championship title defeating Castlepollard 2-12 to 1-9 at Cusack Park, Mullingar last Sunday.

Delvin edged out Crookedwood by the narrowest of margins, 2-8 to 1-10 to retain their senior status for 2014 and in doing so consigned The Wood to intermediate hurling for next year.
Hurling championship takes centre stage
Hurling takes the spotlight this weekend with two quarter-finals and the relegation playoff down for decision. First up is the relegation final between Delvin and Crookedwood which throws in at 6.30pm in Cusack Park on Saturday. Both teams lost their three group games and there won’t be much between them on Saturday. The Wood may just about have enough to shade it but will need to improve their scoring return having managed just nine points in each of their last two outings.
Lough Lene Gaels and Clonkill book semi-final berths
Lough Lene Gaels and Clonkill have booked their place in the semi-finals of this year’s Slevins Coaches senior hurling championship. The Gaels helped themselves to a 2-14 to 1-8 win over a disappointing Raharney while the reigning champions edged out Castletown Geoghegan in a thriller.
