Flood works funding increase

Flood works funding has just been announced for a number of Mayo areas. Funding of €45,000 has been allocated for Dookinelly, Achill Island, for the provision of an outlet open to the sea and for roadside drainage. Other grants approved include €31,500 for works at Derryguillinan, Cloghans, and €52,200 for works on Owenwee River, comprising €27,900 for the drainage of the river, the river weir, and for the provision of fencing, and €24,300 for the repair of a culvert, for road strengthening works, and for fencing.

€300,000 sanctioned for Mayo flood relief works

The Minister for Transport Noel Dempsey has allocated €300,000 for flood relief works to Mayo County Council.
