Permission granted for all weather sports pitch in Oughterard

The Galway County Council has granted planning permission for an all-weather pitch facility in the grounds of St Paul’s Secondary School, Oughterard.

•Oughterard Badminton Club is running a club open tournament on Sunday at 1pm at the Oughterard Community Centre, open to all players in divisions four and five. Entry fee is €10 per player, each player drawn and partnered with players from different clubs. To register contact Richard Gibbons 087-2847997, or email [email protected]. On Wednesday February 25, the county badminton board will host a special coaching and mini-tournament for division six players at 8pm in GLTC.

•St Paul’s Oughterard face Kiltimagh next Sunday in Ballinrobe at 1.30pm in the Connacht senior B final. The game is followed by the A final between the all-Mayo combination of St Geralds v St Colmans at 3pm. There will be extra time in both games if required.
