The Galway County Council has granted planning permission for an all-weather pitch facility in the grounds of St Paul’s Secondary School, Oughterard.

•Oughterard Badminton Club is running a club open tournament on Sunday at 1pm at the Oughterard Community Centre, open to all players in divisions four and five. On Wednesday February 25, the county badminton board will host a special coaching and mini-tournament for division six players at 8pm in GLTC.

•St Paul’s Oughterard face Kiltimagh next Sunday in Ballinrobe at 1.30pm in the Connacht senior B final. The game is followed by the A final between the all-Mayo combination of St Geralds v St Colmans at 3pm. There will be extra time in both games if required.
