St James have enjoyed a glorious 2010. Intermediate champions in Galway, promoted to senior, crowned Connacht champions, and awarded the club of the year for their efforts.

Last Sunday was a special day in the history of St James GAA club.

The St James’s footballers and their loyal supporters of Mervue and Renmore will have to attend Mass early this weekend as they need to be on the N17 early on Sunday for their Connacht intermediate final meeting with Strokestown at 12.30pm in Tuam Stadium.

This Sunday in Pearse Stadium ( 4pm) St James will take on Leitir Mor in the eagerly-awaited county intermediate final.

They timed their final surge last Sunday to perfection to defeat St James on a score-line of 0-9 to 0-7 to be crowned the Claregalway Hotel intermediate champions for 2009.

St James won their third West Board final in four years last Saturday at Pearse Stadium when they comprehensively defeated Michéal Breathnach’s in the SuperValu minor final by seven points.

The top two club football sides at minor level over the past few years, St James and Corofin, face off this Saturday at 2.30pm in Pearse Stadium in the county minor “A” final.

St James had a terrific win over Corofin last Saturday in the minor A final at Pearse Stadium. They won on a score-line of 1-11 to 1-07.
