The Swinford Electoral Area Committee this week gave initial approval for Mayo County Council to give a half-acre site to the Foxford Alzheimer’s Day Care Centre on a 99-year lease for a nominal fee. The patch of land is located on Admiral Browne Road, Foxford beside a portion of land that the council has already given for the construction of a medical centre in the future.

Half of the Notice of Motion allocation money for the Swinford area for local road improvements in 2012 had not been allocated as of Tuesday of this week, it has emerged. A blueprint for the future development of Ireland West Airport Knock is to be approved by the members of Mayo County Council on Monday, following its adoption by the members of the Swinford electoral area committee this week.
