An extremely large entry into the 2012/2013 National u18 championships last weekend saw the first session of boxing on Friday last take the full seven hour shift to complete. Seventeen Mayo boxers, a combination of both male and female, weighed in on Friday morning. Two female boxers added a pair of additional titles to the 32 already won by Mayo boxers this season. Lycia Heneghan (Ballinrobe BC) and Kathy Higgins (Ardnaree BC) were successful in their attempts to include national titles on their records.

Heneghan's Florist celebrates twenty five years in business

This December Heneghan's Florist will celebrate its 25th Christmas season on Sea Road. It opened its doors in 1985, providing Galway with flowers and plants including many homegrown in their own nurseries that was established in the early 1940s by Mark and Norah Heneghan originally at Knocknacarra Cross, and later expanding their greenhouse business to the Ballybanebeg area on the Monivea Road.
