The Aldi Foróige Youth Citizenship Awards took place in Citywest Hotel and Conference Centre recently where some 2,300 young people from throughout Ireland showcased their work in the community. The Foróige Youth Citizenship Awards in partnership with Aldi took place last Saturday July 2 in the Citywest Hotel and Conference Centre, Dublin. Islandeady Foróige Club scooped the Gold Star Award for its project "A village enhancement project including the re-development of a local slipway", and Cyber Crew Ballina Neighbourhood Youth Project won a Bronze Star Award for its project "An internet safety awareness campaign". There was lots of other Mayo involvement in the awards.
