Mayo County Council will sit down on Friday afternoon at 1pm to finalise their budget for the coming year. On Monday the elected members were given lengthy presentation on the proposed €122.5 million budget for 2017.

We were promised everything else in 2011, but we've no representation in Ballina in government and that's probably the problem, under Fianna Fail  it was brought to Mount Falcon and now we might get half of a bridge done, the N5 is on the back burner as well, it won't be ready for years."

A book of condolence has been opened at City Hall for former minister and city mayor, TD and Minister Bobby Molloy after his death at the weekend at the age of 80. Mr Molloy was laid to rest in The New Cemetery Bohermore yesterday (Wednesday) following funeral mass in Galway Cathedral.
