Lives in the south Connemara area are being put in jeopardy because of a serious lack of fire services, according to Galway senator Fidelma Healy Eames.

Fire crews from Galway and Clifden were battling gorse fires across Connemara this week, with fires breaking out yesterday in Derryinver, Moyard, and Roundstone/Ballyconneely.
