Leenavesta is a serenely beautiful townland nestled at the foot of the Sheaffrey Hills between the well known towns of Westport and Louisbourg. Croagh Patrick stands guard to the north and the Owenmore River threads its way though the valley as it flows down to join the Erriff. This is superb fishing country. Salmon, brown trout, and sea trout are the main quarry, but the sea angler also has Clew Bay, famous for its beauty and its international sea angling competition, within a few minutes’ drive.

Westport artist Neil McCormack opened an exhibition of paintings at the Ennistymon Courthouse Gallery and Studios, County Clare last Saturday evening May 16. The exhibition continues until May 30.
