CINDERELLA, THIS year’s Renmore Pantomime, opens next week, and is sure to keep Galway audiences in festive humour throughout its two- week run from Monday December 29 to Sunday January 11.

THE RENMORE Pantomime is as much a part of Christmas in Galway as mulled wine and mistletoe and this year’s festive offering is Cinderella, which opens at the Town Hall Theatre on Monday December 29.

Few pantomimes can instantly inspire images of rags to riches, sadness to happiness, lowly servant to the talk of the society ball and a prince finding his princess as the timeless pantomime fairy tale that is Cinderella. Previously performed by Castlebar Pantomime in 1951, 1960, 1987 and 1997 on the Castlebar Town Hall stage, 2012 sees this much loved classic being performed for the first time by the revised Castlebar Pantomime in the Theatre Royal, Castlebar from January 11 to 15. There are 61 years of pantomime tradition within Castlebar from 1951 to 2012 and a complete change of location for the home of Castlebar Pantomime, but this ultra modern 2012 production promises to hold true to this traditional fairy tale.

Castlebar Pantomime is currently preparing for its 2012 production which will tell the story of Cinderella.

Castlebar Pantomime Committee wishes to invite anyone over 18 years to their adult auditions for their 2012 production of Cinderella. Auditions will be held from 8pm on the September 5, 7, 12 and 14 at the TF Royal Hotel, Castlebar.

Ballet Theatre UK is delighted to present its all-new production of Prokofiev’s classical ballet, Cinderella, at the Dean Crowe Theatre, Athlone on Thursday February 24 2011 at 8pm.
