Raharney and Clonkill booked their place in this year’s decider thanks to wins over Oliver Plunkett’s and Castletown respectively last weekend. In the first of the semis Raharney were never really troubled by a disappointing Plunkett’s showing.

Reigning champions Garrycastle remain on track to complete their hat trick of titles as they withstood the spirited challenge of Tyrrellspass in an entertaining contest last weekend. The final scoreline of 2-17 to 2-08 is a little harsh on a game Tyrrellspass side who trailed by just three points with a little over 10 minutes remaining. Ultimately though Anthony Cunningham must have been pleased by the manner in which his troops pulled away in the end to book their place in the decider which is scheduled for October 2.

As a perfect seasonal bookend to the flames of Uishneach, summer will be officially tucked away for another year on the grounds of Mount Druid only five miles away, when the Murphy family host the Green Village music and arts festival on September 24.
