Fine Gael TD for Galway West and Mayo South Seán Kyne has welcomed confirmation that from this month the fire fighters from the new South Connemara fire station will be accompanying colleagues from Clifden and the City on call-outs as part of their final phase of training.

Galway county councillors have refused to give up their fight to ensure that the people of South Connemara receive their fair share and benefit from the basic life-saving service that an additional fire station in an area such as Carraroe could provide.
