Mullingar man is nominated for four IFTAs

Former Dalton Park resident Terry McMahon will take his place alongside Fatal Attraction’s Glenn Close and Ocean’s Eleven’s Don Cheadle in the National Convention Centre on February 11, after his film Charlie Casanova was nominated for four Irish Film and Television Awards this week.

Mullingar Choral Society, one of the gems in the cultural crown of Mullingar, is about to start rehearsals for the 2011/2012 season.The choir is getting going again on Monday September 5, in St Mary’s CBS (beside the cathedral). The choir is made up of ordinary men and women who turn in an extraordinary performance, year after year, with little or no fanfare, and the annual concert in the cathedral is one of the highlights of the town’s cultural calendar.
