Blast 2010 at the Gateway Live is set to attract all types of acts and bands from all over the west of Ireland with a prize fund of €8,000 on offer, including a professional recording contract to help launch the career of the winning band or act.

Charity cycle for homeless

Today, Friday July 16, friends Detective Garda Fergal Flynn of Fitzgibbon Street Garda Station and Paul Kelly, prison officer at Mountjoy Prison, will set off on a charity cycle from the Capuchin Day Centre, Dublin to Belmullet. Joined by a number of colleagues, Flynn and Kelly will cycle a total of 300km to raise much needed funds for The Capuchin Day Centre.
