The Prince Bar Athlone is now opening later, with even more live music on offer each weekend.

The Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore, in the heart of the Midlands, is to renovate its main bar, which is set to transform the area into one of Ireland’s top eateries and entertainment venues.

A newly developed pub and restaurant called John Keogh’s – The Lock Keeper has opened in the heart of Galway in the city’s west-end. The new gastropub was developed by Matt Hall, a Galway resident who also owns MacBride’s Bar in Westport.

Elsewhere around the Square, Petit Pois does casual French bistro with charm and you can even have a Michelin Star experience in the area by popping into Loam.

The House Hotel’s head cocktail bartender, Aileen Cunningham, has beaten off stiff competition to win a trip to Havana, Cuba, next year after being selected as Galway’s best.
