Ballycroy National Park will hold special events this May Bank Holiday.

The Fine Gael spokesperson on Community, Rural, and Gaeltacht affairs, Deputy Michael Ring, has welcomed the opening of the visitor centre at Ballycroy National Park.

This Saturday (October 24) find out some odd and interesting facts about bats. This will be followed by some batty games and crafts. A talk on the origins of Halloween will take place on Sunday October 25 at 2pm. Some traditional Halloween games will then be played. Find out what it’s like to be a conservation ranger by attending a talk on the day in the life of a ranger at 2pm on Monday October 26. All events will take place in Ballycroy National Park Visitor Centre (098 49888).

This year National Trails Day takes place on Sunday October 4 and Anna Connor, walking development officer with Mayo County Council, outlines the trails which you can walk this weekend in Mayo.
