A west of Ireland charity which provides care and support to families affected by Alzheimer’s disease aims to raise €200,000 from its annual fundraiser on April 1.

The winners of the Jacques Vert/Precis Petit competition are Margaret Herbert, Ballina, Co Mayo; Anne Lavelle, Ballindine, Co Mayo; and Breege Joyce, Castlebar, who each will receive a €200 voucher from Precis Petit/Jacques Vert which can be used in Shaws department stores in Castlebar and Ballina.

Discussions are continuing between the HSE West and the Western Alzheimer’s Foundation in relation to the capital plan for the 29-bed respite home for Alzheimer disease sufferers which is to be built at Merlin Park.
