Nine projects from Westmeath schools have qualified for this year’s 50th BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition, to take place in January. The projects were chosen from 52 Westmeath entries to this year’s competition.

Some 300 schools nationwide have been invited to enter Ireland’s first science video competition, cleverly named ReelLife Science.

A total of 846 Westmeath students have exhibited 437 projects in the RDS over the past 49 years as part of the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition. The figures were revealed this week as the BT Young Scientist prepares to celebrate its 50th year.
