Free mental health support for Athlone area

Aware, the national organisation providing support and information around stress, anxiety, and depression is providing a weekly support group in Loughrea and the organisation is encouraging people in the Athlone, Ballinasloe, and surrounding areas who are dealing with these common issues to try this free support option. The group, which meets in the Abbey on Abbey Street, Loughrea every Tuesday at 8pm, provides an opportunity for people to share particular concerns and challenges, and explore options that might help.

Tesco stores in Mayo raised €81,000 for Aware

Tesco Ireland has announced that it has raised €2million for Aware through the fundraising efforts of Tesco’s employees and customers throughout the country and more than €81,000 was raised by Tesco stores in Mayo. The announcement marks the end of Tesco’s two-year Charity of the Year partnership with Aware which ran from 2012 to 2014, as selected by the company’s 15,000 employees.

Second Aware support group for Galway city

Aware, the national organisation providing support, information, and education around depression, has just announced a second support group for Galway city. The new group meets every Monday from 8pm (including Bank Holidays) in Ard Family Resource Centre, Doughiska Road.
