Triple P’s founder Professor Matt Sanders to visit Athlone

The Longford-Westmeath Parenting Partnership will welcome Professor Matt Sanders, the founder of the Triple P Positive Parenting Programme from June 8-10 including a seminar in Athlone on Thursday June 9. The programme is currently being piloted in Longford Westmeath having started up in September 2010.

Westmeath youth services to receive some €260,000 in funding

Three youth services in Westmeath are to receive funding of some €260,000 for 2011; Athlone Youth Information Centre, Midlands Project Athlone, and Mullingar Youth Response Project. The funding was announced by Minister for Children Frances Fitzgerald this week. Athlone Youth Information Centre is set to receive €58, 230, Midlands Project Athlone will get €101,988, and Mullingar Youth Response Project will get funding of €92,168. Longford Youth Services Project also received funding of €92,168 from the Office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs.
