Gardai investigate break-ins and thefts

Gardai in Mullingar are seeking assistance from the public regarding a number of thefts which occurred in Mullingar during the past week.

A safe was stolen from a shop in Dominick Street last Sunday February 8 by four males, thought to be foreign nationals. The theft took place at approximately 5.30pm.

Meanwhile two residences in Belvedere Hills were broken into on Tuesday this week, and in both cases electrical equipment was taken including TVs, laptops, and a Playstation. Both houses were entered via patio doors at the rear.

The previous week, on Wednesday February 4, a businesses premises at Ballinalack was broken into at approximately 7.30am and a substantial quantity of cash stolen. The perpetrators, two males described as having tight haircuts, broke in through the front door. They made their escape in a silver car in the direction of Longford.
