Pat Shortt returns to the Mullingar Arts Centre

I Am The Band, Pat Shortt’s new one-man comedy show, charts the life of everyone’s favourite lounge muso, Dixie Walsh.

The show takes the form of a tribute night to Dixie, with all his peers and friends (the audience ) coming along to celebrate his career. During the show, Dixie reminisces about the path his career has taken and the struggles he has had to endure to get to the top of his game.

Pat Shortt is one of Ireland’s best-loved comedians. As Dixie Walsh, he has had one of Ireland’s biggest selling number one singles, with ‘Jumbo Breakfast Roll’. Until now, the ebullient Dixie Walsh was a character who appeared in two of Pat’s sell-out shows: You Won’t Get Away With That Here and The Hall. Now, Dixie takes centre stage to tell his life story and shares his unique style of music with you in Pat’s new show I Am The Band.

Pat’s quirky interpretation of rural Irish characters brings to life Dixie’s mother, his teacher, and other locals, all of whom queue up to recall their daft memories of Dixie and his music. I Am The Band is an hilarious look at life on the back roads between Ireland’s dance halls, and a tribute to one of this country’s true music legends - Dixie Walsh!

Pat Shortt will be presenting his new solo live show, I Am The Band, at the Mullingar Arts Centre on Saturday March 16, at 8pm. Tickets are available priced at €28 and €12.50 and are available from the box office by calling (044 ) 9347777.
