A new postbox is to be provided for Mullingar residents near the Spar shop in Ardleigh on the C-Link Road.
An Post’s regional manager John Brady wrote to Mullingar Town Council this week to confirm that a new posting facility is to be installed near the Spar shop on the western bypass (C-Link ) by the end of November.
A comprehensive review was carried out in August of all posting facilities in the Mullingar area.
The review also proposed that the postbox on the Irishtown roundabout be removed as “it is in a very bad location and servicing the facility is especially difficult”.
The new postbox at Ardleigh will be approximately 1,300 metres from this point.
Cllr Ken Glynn said he warmly welcomed the news.
