Charity cycle to Croagh Patrick

Local man Ollie Greene is getting ready for a charity cycle and climb at the end of September in aid of the Jack & Jill Foundation.

Ollie plans to cycle from Mullingar to Westport before climbing Croagh Patrick, and cycling back to the town.

He plans to leave Mullingar on Friday September 30, climb Croagh Patrick on Saturday October 1, and cycle back to Mullingar on Sunday October 2. The cycle is 353km and the climb is 640 metres from ground level.

“There are five of us so far doing the whole lot but if anyone else is interested in helping out in any way they are more than welcome,” said Ollie.

“There are some people just doing the climb so if you fancy that, get involved, it’s for a really great cause,” he added.

The Jack & Jill Foundation provides direct funding to families of children with brain damage who suffer severe intellectual and physical developmental delay, enabling them to purchase home respite care.

These are children, who as a result of their condition, require intensive home nursing care.
