Community spirit alive and well in Mullingar

A number of local businesses are showing real community spirit and also showing that a real difference can be made to the lives of those in our community who need our help and support.

Over the last couple of months a number of local shops and businesses have been helping to raise much needed funds for the Midlands Simon Community by placing collection boxes in their outlets.

The full list of those supporting the campaign is: Buckley’s Centra, Buckley’s Supervalu, Canton Casey’s, Days Bazaar, William Donaghue Grange Londis Stores, Linos Takeaway and Restaurant, James Maguire & Sons Butchers, Martins Quick Pick, O’Brien’s Topaz, Rochforts newsagent, Rustic Oil Topaz, and The Crossbar.

Speaking at a coffee morning to acknowledge those supporting the campaign, Cormac P Lally, development officer Midlands Simon, said “On behalf of Midlands Simon Community, and all the people we are working with, I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the shops, for their fantastic support. The type of example and support they have shown has been a very significant boost to our work. It is all the more appreciated given the very challenging times we are all experiencing.

“It is only with the kind of support shown by all the businesses that Midlands Simon will be able to continue to provide essential services to those experiencing homelessness.
