HousePlants to release debut album in September

HOUSEPLANTS, the duo of composer/producer Daithí, and Bell X1’s Paul Noonan, will release their debut album, Dry Goods, on September 17.

Already, three singles from the album have been released - ‘‘What’s With All The Pine?’, ‘Companero’, and last month’s ‘Window Pane’, which the duo described as follows: “The everyday muffled noises we hear from our fellow humans living beside us tease us a little - a soundtrack to the mundane, the daily grind. Curtains, floorboards, hairdryers. People there are alright, enough for the imagination to run with anyway."

The track listing for Dry Goods is ‘What's With All The Pine?’, ‘Window Pane’, ‘Companero’, ‘No Stoppin’ Me’, ‘Mannequin’, ‘Ringing In My Ears’, ‘Burning’, ‘Reveller’, and ‘Wait!’.

For both artists, HousePlants represents reclamation amidst a significantly difficult era for creatives with the Covid-19 pandemic and consequent restrictions.

“There’s a community of music makers who mainly see each other at gigs and nights like the Choice Music Prize that feels somewhat atomised in the void of lockdown,” they say. “One of the nicer things about this time is that artists have been checking in on each other. It feels like lots of people are doing what we did.”
