Full Linenhall autumn programme announced

The Linenhall Arts Centre’s full autumn/winter 2017 programme is now online, heralding an exciting and packed programme of music, theatre, comedy, film, literary events and more, promising something for everyone over the coming months. And of course there are exhibitions and workshops too, plus annual favourite RoolaBoola Children’s Arts Festival to keep the young ones entertained and engaged.

Whether it’s the sublime traditional sound of Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill (November 13 ), the engaging folk simplicity of Anna and Elizabeth (November 8 ), the dazzling jazz of the Michael Wollny Trio (October 23 ), the contemporary eclecticism of local musician and singer Laura Ryder (September 6 ), the eloquence of English folkster Chris Wood (October 19 ), the very special Duke Special (October 11 ), the classical bravura of Katherine Hunka and Finghin Collins (November 23 ), or the exuberance of the Alan Kelly Gang and Eddi Reader (September 20 ), the Linenhall has music well and truly covered.

Theatrically speaking there’s the wickedly funny Oscar Wilde-inspired To Hell in a Handbag (September 12 ), multi-talented Catherine Ireton’s acclaimed For All The Fires Not Yet Lit (October 2 ), Paddy Cullivan’s lively Ten Dark Secrets of the Irish Revolution (November 30 ), and Lyceum C&T’s thought-provoking The First Protestant (November 27 ), plus top-notch family theatre including Theatre Lovett’s They Called Her Vivaldi (October 28 ) and NIE’s We Come From Far, Far Away (October 21 ). And if you’re looking for a serious laugh, look no further than Castlebar’s own Ger Staunton (September 8 ), and the uniquely engaging David O'Doherty (November 16 ), both bringing new shows to the Linenhall.

Add to that a programme of World Cinema every second Tuesday, exhibitions including the ever-popular Mayo Artists Show and workshops for young and old, and you have just a small taster of what’s on offer in the coming months. And it’s all online now, with the printed programme available at the end of August. Checking out the Linenhall website for details on the above and much, much more besides, on www.thelinenhall.com
