David McWilliams will be speaking at Meetwest.

Described as “colourful, stimulating and provocative” one of Ireland’s leading economic commentators, David McWilliams will address attendees of MeetWest 2016 at the McWilliam Park Hotel Claremorris on Thursday November 24.

McWilliams - writer, journalist, lecturer, broadcaster and documentary maker - was the first economist to identify the Irish boom as nothing more than a credit bubble, warning of its collapse and the consequences for the country. He writes two economics columns a week in Irish newspapers, is a regular contributor to the Financial Times, and also writes a daily financial markets newsletter, Global Macro 360 – read every morning by tens of thousands of his 125,000 Twitter followers.

Attendees of MeetWest 2016 will hear McWilliams speak about observations from everyday life which explains why the economy may be going one way or another, speak about reasons to be positive, and the opportunities around Brexit for businesses in Ireland.
