LAMA award for Broadhaven Bay developer

Builder Eamon Padden has won the Zurich LAMA best developer/promoter for his development of the Broadhaven Bay hotel and leisure centre in Belmullet.

The annual award ceremony recognises local projects of excellence in construction, engineering and infrastructure, as nominated by local authorities.

The development of Broadhaven Bay Hotel was nominated by Mayo County Council. Councillor Cyril Burke said: “I believe that in these challenging times for the construction industry, it is still important to celebrate excellence like the Broadhaven Bay Hotel. These awards provide an opportunity to acknowledge well planned and expertly executed projects, which enhance our daily lives.”

Eamon Padden commented: “I am delighted with this recognition from the LAMA Local Government Awards. As a local the development of a well-built and run hotel in Belmullet was very important to me. And I am pleased that the hotel is regarded as a great resource in the area with facilities such as the leisure centre and for weddings and other family landmark occasions. Additionally it’s a great base for those who wish to discover the treasures of Erris.”
