Local youth theatre at the Linenhall

Castlebar’s Acting For Fun youth theatre group presents a double bill of entertainment at the Linenhall this March with two comic plays by local playwright Ken Armstrong: Midnight in the Theatre of Blood and Fine.

In Midnight in the Theatre of Blood, a group of friends spend the night in their local theatre on Halloween night, summoning the ghost who lives there. However, the group soon find out that ghosts are not at all like they expected, and that evenings do not always go as planned.

The short play Fine invites you to visit one of the strangest fast food restaurants you have ever seen. The strange girl behind the counter will soon find out if you really are as ‘fine’ as you say you are.

Midnight had its premiere at the Linenhall in 2008 and has since gone on to a number of productions after being a National Association for Youth Theatre Playshare selection in 2014. Fine was also premiered in Castlebar in front of a large audience which included An Taoiseach Enda Kenny. Both plays are directed by award-winning actor and director Donna Ruane. It is theatre by young people, but it is for adults too.

Acting For Fun youth theatre’s double bill of Midnight in the Theatre of Blood and Fine takes place at the Linenhall Arts Centre on Monday and Tuesday, March 21 and 22, at 8pm. Booking for these performances is advised. To make a booking call (094 ) 9023733 or book online at www.thelinenhall.com
