Claremorris Musical Society's Anything Goes delights audiences

The cast and crew of Claremorris Musical Society have said ‘bon voyage’ to their 10th annual production, Anything Goes, in a blaze of glamorous glory.

Last weekend saw the audiences in The Town Hall, Claremorris, on their feet as they were entertained by a superb cast of performers. With lead roles played by Vivienne Lee, Dave Gallagher, Séamas Cafferky, Mary Dempsey, Richie Heneghan, Sharlene Ruane, Ciarán Kiely, Carmel Glynn and Ronan Egan, and a very large chorus of enthusiastic, singing sailors and socialites, this show proved to be a real crowd pleaser.

Much loved classic songs, 1930s glamour and an array of talent all proved to be a hit with the audiences. The very impressive staging, costumes, singing, dancing and acting, as well as the direction and choreography provided by Hazel Lloyd, were further enhanced by a great band under music director, Deirdre Lee. The addition of several new musicians to this year’s production further enhanced the all-round entertainment value of the show.

Claremorris Musical Society would like to take this opportunity to thank June Allison Keane, producer and founder of the society. Her tireless work and her continued drive, ambition and positivity are what have helped this society go from strength to strength. On behalf of past and present members, the society thank her for always having the determination to keep going despite the everyday ups and downs involved with a production of this scale.

The society would also like to thank The Town Hall, Claremorris, and all sponsors and local businesses who have continued to support its productions year after year. Without the help and support of these sponsors, a show of this calibre simply would not be possible. All involved in the musical society look forward to delighting crowds with future productions of this kind.
