Four Mayo hotels on Bridgestone’s best 100 places to stay guide

Lisloughrey Lodge in Cong is one of 11 new entrants in the Bridgestone 100 Best Places to Stay in Ireland 2009. The guide, together with its sister publication, the Bridgestone 100 Best Restaurants in Ireland 2009, has just been published by John and Sally McKenna.

“A bright new star in the western firmament, Lisloughrey has the style and chutzpah to be a real player,” says John McKenna. “Lisloughrey has quickly raced to become a regular award winner for hospitality and for its cooking from chef Wade Murphy.”

Also listed in the guide are Park Inn Mulranny, Newport House, and Stella Maris, Ballycastle.

The guide also features the top 10 places for romance, places to bring your golf clubs, places with great breakfasts, places for walking, places with great views, places to get away from it all, and places near great surf.

Lisloughrey Lodge is rated as one of the top 10 places to bring the golf clubs and as a winning place to get away from it all.

Stella Maris is cited as one of the best places in Ireland that is near great surf. Selected establishments are rated as ‘hot’ or ‘classic’ — and Stella Maris is lauded as a ‘hot’ place to stay in this year’s guide, while Newport House is a ‘classic’.

There are no Mayo restaurants featured this year in the new Bridgestone 100 Best Restaurants in Ireland.

The Bridgestone 100 Best guides are published by Estragon Press, and cost €10 each. For further information log onto www.bridgestoneguides.com
