The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has urged all voters in Mayo to check the draft register of electors which is available at both their local county council office and online at www.checktheregister.ie until next Wednesday, November 25.
Speaking this week the Taoiseach said: “Politics is about people, Government is about decisions, and elections are about choices. A very important choice comes before the Irish people in the early spring. That choice is to continue the stability, recovery, growth and jobs that this Government, working with the people, have brought about or to risk that recovery by following the empty rhetoric of opposition parties.
"To have their say in this decision people must be registered to vote and I urge everyone to check the register before next Wednesday to ensure their name is on it. The upcoming election is hugely important for the future of our country and I hope that everyone in Mayo that is entitled to vote will exercise that right.”
