Mayo Mountain Rescue celebrate twenty five years of service

The Mayo Mountain Rescue Team is delighted to announce a celebration of 25 years of service. To mark this special occasion, it is hosting a free family fun day to thank all those in the Mayo community who have supported it throughout the years. The event will take place on Saturday September 5 at the Westport Quay from 12.30pm until 5.30pm. This is a free afternoon of entertainment for the general public and the team look forward to welcoming families, friends, and patrons.

Activities on the day include for children a giant climbing wall, jenga connect, face painting, and live music. Mayo Mountain Rescue will also be putting on mountain rescue demonstrations, questions and answer sessions with team members, along with plenty of refreshments and home baked goods for everyone to enjoy on the day.

Mayo Mountain Rescue is a 100 per cent voluntary rescue service operating 365 days a year, responding to those lost or injured in the hills and mountains of Mayo. Dedicated to bringing you safely home, this vital service is only made possible by the high levels of commitment shown by the team and the generous donations of the public.
