The much anticipated new season Achill Mountain Lamb will be officially launched at a ceremony and family event on Saturday July 4 in Keel on Achill Island. Achill Mountain Lamb is owned by the Calvey family of Achill, who are seventh generation hill sheep farmers.
On Saturday, July 4 the female butcher of the family, Grainne, will preside over the dishes prepared by Gary O’Hanlon, of Viewmount House Longford and RTE’s The Restaurant. Gary will be preparing a selection of lamb dishes such lamb ragout, lamb quesadillas and lamb with egg fried rice. The event will coincide with the the Achill Half Marathon taking place on the same day.
