I am a big fan of Benefit cosmetics so I did not consider it a task at all when Stauntons Pharmacy, Main Street, Castlebar, gave me two of Benefit’s latest products to try out.
Both products relate to the eyes - the first being a new eye gel called Puff Off while the second is Benefit’s new Roller Lash mascara.
As is always the case with any Benefit product I use, the first thing to love about it is the packaging.
The company, founded in San Francisco in 1976 by twins Jane and Jean Ford, already has a great reputation for original, quirky, and humorous packaging and these latest products are no exception.
The mascara’s attractive and vibrant black and pink packaging has a functional element too with a great, grip friendly, handle.
Similarly so on the functional front with the Puff Off gel. The nozzle is shaped like a miniature iron - suggesting you can literally iron out your fine lines and wrinkles.
After using the mascara for a couple of weeks, I am completely won over.
I usually use a much heavier mascara, even for day wear, because it is my absolute desert island must have beauty product and I tend to layer it on.
The Roller Lash mascara is a much lighter product than I am used to, yet it still thickens, defines, and definitely curls, curls, curls, those lashes.
It goes on easy, stays on all day, and then (my favourite part ) comes off relatively easy too, so no scrubbing at panda like eyes until they sting.
The Puff Off gel is designed to smooth out fine lines, tackle eye puffiness, and cool and sooth the eye area.
To be honest, I have never been a big believer in the ability of any cream to reverse the signs of ageing and smooth out fine lines. However, I do like to use an eye cream every day to apply something light and cooling to the delicate skin around the eye.
Puff Off definitely soothes and cools, and thanks to the cool, angled, ‘iron’ applicator, it feels really great to use - like a mini massage!
It also smells fantastic, is very light and quickly absorbed.
Stauntons Pharmacy, Main Street, Castlebar, is the only Mayo agent for Benefit Cosmetics.
