Mayo Food producers are heading east

The National Crafts and Design Fair is taking place in the RDS Dublin from Wednesday, December 3 to Sunday, December 7. This annual event, running for many years, hosts visitor numbers of up to 30,000 over the five days. Through the co-ordination and support of The Enterprise and Investment Unit and Mayo Local Enterprise Office at Mayo County Council, a number of Mayo food producers are coming together to showcase and sell their products at The Mayo Quarter at The Spectacular Christmas Food Emporium which forms part of the fair.

A wide range of food products from Kelly’s of Newport, Cabots of Westport, Westport Grove Jams and Chutneys, Harvest Moon, Wildwood Vinegars, Belmont Organic Venison and Mariko Sparkling Green Tea will be for sale at the event.

Not only will visitors to the show be spoilt for choice of Mayo food products but will also be able to meet the makers at the individual stands, and on purchasing some Mayo products can enter a draw for a Mayo Food Hamper at the Local Enterprise Office stand, which will be full to the brim of delicious food products and vouchers. Other promotional offers and prizes will be available at The Mayo Quarter too.

Business Advisor with the Mayo LEO, and co-ordinator of The Mayo Quarter, Tanya Whyte Stanaway, said: “A wide range of delicious food products are being produced in Mayo with products ranging across the spectrum including seafood, meats, farmhouse cheese, farmhouse butter, pestos, sea salt, hedgerow infused vinegars, chocolate, nougat, natural still and sparkling water, green tea sparking water, craft beers to name just a few, and many are award winning. This event will showcase some of the best food products produced in Mayo and we are looking forward to welcoming shoppers to The Mayo Quarter in the Food Emporium. Mayo LEO supports initiatives such as this one to assist in promoting small food business in Mayo. We ask that anyone in the vicinity of the RDS between the 3rd and 7th December support the Mayo Quarter or if you have family and friends living in Dublin please inform them of the Mayo presence at the event.”

The Mayo Quarter will be located on stands S60-S63 and S51-S54 in The Spectacular Christmas Food Emporium in the Shelbourne Hall, RDS.
