Mayo has low claim rate

Mayo has one of the lowest personal injury claim rates in the country, according to the latest figures released by the Injuries Board.

Awards totaling €3.1 million were paid out to 121 Mayo claimants in the first six months of the year.

The claim average in the county stands at €26,209.

Longford, Limerick, Louth, Dublin, and Clare are the five counties with the largest number of awards as a proportion of population and Mayo, Kilkenny, Wicklow, Carlow, and Wexford have the lowest number of awards per head of population.
