Miss Ireland finalists go adventuring in Westport

A bevy of glamorous Miss Ireland finalists ditched their high heels for bows and arrows and headed into the west last week.

The 23 finalists were on a three-day adventure trip in Westport, and their skills in the great outdoors were put to the test in a series of challenges, both on land and at sea.

The stunning line-up of Miss Ireland hopefuls visited Westport House and Adventure Islands for the bonding boot camp to compete in activities that included laser guns, archery, kayaking and obstacle courses.

The challenges will contribute to the overall judging of the Miss Ireland competition.

One woman will be named Miss Ireland at the gala final in the Ballsbridge Hotel, Dublin, on July 19.
