Knock airport appoints new board directors

Ireland West Airport Knock has announced the appointment of three new directors to the airport board.

The airport said the appointments will help to “ensure the future sustainability and growth of the airport.”

The new board members are Brian O’Dwyer, senior partner at O’Dwyer and Bernstein LLP in New York, USA, Pat Gallagher, manufacturing director for Europe, Middle-East and Africa at Baxter Healthcare Ltd, and John Molloy, managing director of Aircraft Consultancy and Equipment Sales Limited (ACES ).

These additions follow the appointment last year of Joe Kennedy, KCSG, to the position of chairman, for a second term.

A statement from the airport said the new members will bring “a combined wealth of international aviation, industry and business expertise, combined with many years of experience in managing and developing businesses on a global stage.”

Last year, over 665,000 passengers used Ireland West Airport Knock and it is anticipated 700,000 will use the airport in 2014, making it the busiest year in the airport’s history.
