Talk, FIND project artists

Linenhall Arts Centre, Saturday

The artists and one of the mentors involved in the Castlebar public art project FIND will give an afternoon of talks on their work in the Linenhall Arts Centre, starting at 2 pm on Saturday.

Each artist and mentor Alice Maher will speak for about 15 minutes on their work.

Tea, coffee, wine and refreshments will also be served.

Drop-in activity, Easter celebrations

Museum of Country Life, Sunday

There will be an Easter competition and activities at the Museum of Country Life, Turlough, on Sunday, April 20.

Visit the museum and fill out an Easter activity sheet to be in with a chance to win a prize for the best drawn Easter egg or card design. This is a family activity with no booking required.

Drama, The Year of the Hiker

Bangor Hall, Friday

The Erris Players Drama Group presents John B Keane’s The Year of the Hiker in Bangor Hall on Good Friday Night, April 18, at 8.30 pm. The play, set in 1960s Ireland, tells the story of Hiker Lacey, a man who returns home to the family he deserted 20 years ago.

Admission is €10 and €8 concessions.

Family activity, Easter party and craft fair

Breaffy Events Arena, Castlebar, Sunday

A family Easter party and Craft Fair, in support of Aware, takes place in the Breaffy Events Arena, Castlebar, on Easter Sunday from 2 to 5 pm.

There will be bouncy castles, craft stalls, an Easter egg hunt, pet farm, face painting and kids disco.

Lynn’s pub, Killala, Sunday

North Mayo Summer School is holding a traditional Irish music session in Lynn’s pub, Killala, on Sunday from 8 pm.

Enda Gilvarry will launch the North Mayo Summer School on the night. Young musicians are invited to play and all are welcome.

Family activity, annual Easter egg hunt

Brabazon Park, Swinford, Sunday

The Kiddies Easter Egg Hunt, organised by Cllr Joe Mellett and Swinford Tidy Towns, will be held in the Brabazon Park Woodlands, beside the children’s playground on Easter Sunday at 2 pm sharp.

The event is sponsored by Eurospar and Mace.

Country music, Mike Denver

McWilliam Park Hotel, Sunday

Country singer Mike Denver is in the ‘Nashville of the West’, the McWilliam Park Hotel, on Sunday, April 20.

Doors open at 9.30 pm.

Rock/blues music, Southbound

Crockets, The Quay, Ballina, Sunday

Ballina five-piece rock and blues band Southbound are in Crockets on the Quay in Ballina on Sunday night.

They play from 10 to midnight. Before that, Katie Cassidy is onstage from 6 to 8 pm and, following the live music, a DJ will play until late. Telephone (096 ) 75930 for more.
