Project management 2013 salary survey results

The Institute of Project Management recently published its ninth annual survey of project management practitioners in Ireland. This survey is jointly undertaken by the institute and UCC Department of Management and Marketing and took place across five geographic regions – Cork, Dublin, Galway, Limerick, and Waterford.

The survey addresses many topics such as the individual’s profile, the importance of certification and maturity from an executive’s perspective, the presence of project offices, and the practice of portfolio management and benefits realisation, as well as looking at salaries at an overall summary level, which showed that those in the 25th percentile earn €42,500, those in the median percentile earn €52,000, and those in the 75th percentile earned €72,500.

It also provides results for average earnings by project management title across a variety of business activities, such as €79,200 in business, €60,800 in consulting, €55,800 in ecommerce, €57,000 in engineering and constuction, €72,500 in finance and the same figure in health-care.

Respondents to the survey include many participants on the Institute of Project Management’s highly acclaimed certified project management diploma which starts again in Galway on Thursday February 27.
