Two men were arrested in Knock on Tuesday night after being caught allegedly siphoning home heating oil at a residential property.
Gardaí in Claremorris said a member of the public alerted them to the incident. Gardaí found two men at the rear of the property with a number of five-gallon oil drums. A car was also seized.
The men will appear before Castlebar District Court on February 18.
A Garda spokeserpson said homeowners should ensure their premises and oil tanks are as secure as possible, particularly in the winter months.
