Jobs at stake as A-Wear placed in receivership

The doors of A-Wear, Castlebar were closed at lunchtime on Thursday after the chain of shops were placed in receivership earlier that day. A note placed on the shop window said the store was closed until further notice.

A-Wear was placed in receivership after the company failed to exit examinership which it entered in October. The retail business employs more than 350 staff in its head office and in 30 outlets throughout the country.

A number of stores are expected to close as a result.
